Birmingham City defender Ryan Shotton is reportedly attracting interest from Championship duo Hull City and Middlesbrough.

It was reported yesterday by the Birmingham Mail that the Tigers had had their initial bid rebuffed for Shotton and now it looks as though Garry Monk’s side are set to up their efforts to sign the former Derby County defender.

The 28-year-old is settled at Blues but with Marc Roberts already arriving at the club this season and with Aston Villa defender Tommy Elphick rumoured to be joining as well, Shotton may find his chances limited this season.

In this afternoon’s game against Oxford United, Shotton finds himself on the bench which we here at Vital Birmingham understand the centre back isn’t all that happy about.

Shotton was one of the best defenders in the league during the first half of last season under Gary Rowett so it comes as no surprise that he is now attracting interest from the top clubs in the league.

Vital Birmingham understand that Shotton isn’t willing to relocate from his home in Derby with he and his partner expecting another child during the first week of the season.

Blues fans, would you be disappointed to see Ryan Shotton leave the club? Let us know in the comment section down below!
