Birmingham City are reportedly set to miss out on Dijon striker Lois Diony according to reports on social media.

According to Twitter, Diony is close to agreeing a move to Lyon with their prized asset Alexandre Lacazette looking increasing likely to make the move to the Premier League with Arsenal in a deal worth nearly £45 million.

Dijon were reportedly looking to sell Diony for £9 million and it was thought that Blues boss Harry Redknapp was willing to spend around that mark for the 24-year-old who scored 11 goals in 36 appearances last season.

Not only will Redknapp be disappointed to be missing out on one of his reported top targets, but former manager Chris Hughton, who is now in charge of top flight side Brighton and Hove Albion, will also be disappointed to be missing out on the French striker.

The Seagulls were also credited with an interest in the forward but he now looks to be staying in France with Lyon likely to be his next destination.

Blues fans, will you be disappointed to see the club miss out on such a big target? Or do you believe there are better strikers out there for less money than Lois Diony? Let us know in the comment section down below!
