Birmingham City are set to make an offer for Oxford United winger Marvin Johnson, according to Sky Sports News.

The in-demand 26-year-old was reported to have asked to leave the League One side last week following a £1m bid from Hull City.

Blues have previously shown interest in Johnson, who started his career with Solihull Moors and was born in Birmingham.

He was signed by Oxford last summer from Motherwell and has gone on to score three goals in 41 appearances.

Johnson was omitted from Oxford’s game against Scunthrope on Saturday with a reported tight hamstring.
