“Tragic”, “starring down the barrel”- Lot all Blues fans impressed with Steve Spooner’s comments

|

Well, doesn’t it feel great to wake up the morning after a result feeling happy for once?

Or at the very least feeling happier than usual after the results since the Championship restart? Blues moved to within touching distance of safety last night, following Lukas Jutkiewicz’s late goal in a draw with Charlton Athletic.

It left us five points clear of the relegation zone with two games to play, so we’d have to lose both remaining games and have Luton Town or the Addicks win theirs if they were to overtake us.

And speaking after the game, caretaker head coach Steve Spooner was quick to praise the attitude of the players for not giving up in the difficult circumstances, especially after the comments that have been made in recent days from captain Harlee Dean.

Will we stay up?

Yes

No

However, those words weren’t taken too kindly by some Blues fans, who still weren’t too pleased with the performance that the team put in, and turned on the caretaker for it.

What about you? What do you make of Spooner’s comments?

What is he supposed to say? We were no good? That would get the players motivated for the next match wouldn’t it.
We had over 20 shots, 7 on target. Normally you would win with those stats, so yes it was an improvement, yes the players put in a shift but also yes we should expect to beat Charlton at St Andrews. If we stay up by 1 point it will have been a great result, if we still go down then it was a disaster, but not as bad as the tripe against Hull, Reading, Huddersfield etc.

Major concern is the backing Wigan are getting from Labour politicians Andy Burnham and Lisa Landry. Don’t be surprised to see their points deduction reduced to six. Reason being the issue concerning Covid19. Apart from this the whole set up at Blues borders on the hideous.Clotet,Gardner and Spooner are cheap options whilst the club is ‘open to offers’
