‘Top man’, ‘great show’: Some Birmingham fans slowly starting to be convinced by new man

Is three games too small a sample size to start judging a manager?

I personally don’t think it is, especially when you consider that Pep Clotet was in charge for the whole of pre-season as well, so in actual fact he’s had more than three games.

However, it seems that he’s slowly starting to get a lot more Birmingham fans on his side. Having taken over in less than desirable circumstances, taking over from such a beloved manager in Garry Monk, it was always going to take a lot to quell any nay-sayers amongst the St Andrew’s faithful.

Speaking after the 1-1 draw against Bristol City Clotet stressed about the importance of implementing his style of play into the side and how well they’ve reacted to it.

“I take a lot of positives because we managed to put a lot of football into our game – at home – and our fans could see that not only do we want to play, but that determination and passion our players put into that performance.”

The fans clearly did take enjoyment out of it, as they took to Twitter in the aftermath to express their delight at how things are going under the new boss.

Although there were still a couple of people that were questioning his decision making. That’s a marked improvement on the number of people that were against him after the Portsmouth game, so at least things are moving in the right direction on that part.
