Gianfranco Zola takes charge of his first fixture as Birmingham City manager tomorrow as they play host to high-flying Brighton and Hove Albion at St. Andrews. A decent crowd, thought to be just shy of 20,000, is expected for the game which was part of a ticket initiative coupled with the Ipswich Town game last Tuesday.

Emotions will be running high in the terraces as some fans struggle to come to terms with the sacking of Gary Rowett.

As well as a new manager in the home dugout, there will be a familiar face on the opposition bench as former Blues boss Chris Hughton returns to his old home. Hughton led Blues into the play-offs in 2012 before losing to Blackpool over two legs. It was the end of a roller coaster season which included a run in the Europa League. It also marked the end of Hughton’s time as Blues boss after he left the club to take over at Norwich City.

Travelling Brighton fans can pay on the gate after selling just over half of their 3,000 allocation.

The game will be televised live on Sky Sports and kicks off at 5.30pm.
