I’m not too sure if this is the right time to be doing this.
What with The Ashes the way they are, do you really want to be giving praise to an Australian? I don’t care how much of a legend he is; it just doesn’t sit right with me.
Following on from Wednesday’s celebrations of Cameron Jerome’s birthday, today marks the birth of one of the club’s more iconic players, Australian Stan Lazaridis.
Lazaridis signed for the Blues back in 1999 from West Ham and went on to make over 200 appearances for the club. Whilst he never scored a goal quite as good as Jerome, or as many he obviously did enough to make his way into the hearts of Blues fans.
As evidenced by the response that the club received when they wished him all the best on his 47th birthday.
One of my all time favourite Blues ????
