With transfer talk beginning to heat up and the full display of teams being settled next week for the 2017/17 Sky Bet Championship season, we already know that Middlesbrough, Sunderland and Hull City will be joining Birmingham City in the second tier next season.

As with most transfer windows, there is plenty of tittle tattle that goes around and most of the rumours that we see nowadays is usually rubbish but I thought it would be good to look at one Boro player who I think should top Harry Redknapp’s transfer wishlist ahead of the new Championship season.

I am in no way saying that this move will happen, nor am I speculating that the club are lining up a move for him but I believe that Blues should be targeting a move for Cristhian Stuani this summer.

Although he is now 30, Stuani has a experience in both the Premier League and the Championship. In fact, the last time he was in the second tier, Stuani managed to find the back of the net 11 times for Boro as they were promoted to the top flight.

With that in mind, the former Levante loanee knows exactly what it takes to get out of the Championship which I believe is something Blues are lacking at the moment.

The Uruguay striker has a market value of just over £2 million and if Redknapp is looking to buy wisely ahead of the upcoming campaign, signing somebody like Stuani who has been there and done it would prove to be quite a capture for the club.

Of the current crop of Boro players, I believe that Stuani is one of the better players that is available to other clubs at the moment and if Blues can go in with a reasonable offer for him then I believe we might be able to prize him away from the managerless side.

Blues fans, would you like to see the club make a move for Cristhian Stuani this summer? Let us know your thoughts on him and a potential move down in the comment section down below!
