This Everton winger would be a great acquisition for Blues

Earlier this week, Everton manager Ronald Koeman made a big statement at his new club a he left five first team players from the 2015/16 season out of the numbers list ahead of the new Premier League campaign.

One of those players was Irish winger Aiden McGeady, somebody who I think would be a great signing for Birmingham City, who have indeed been searching for a winger to add to their squad.

Last week, Blues reportedly made a move for Dundee winger Greg Stewart but I believe if a loan offer was made for the Toffee’s winger, they would once again allow him to join a Sky Bet Championship team.

In the previous campaign, McGeady, formerly of Scottish giants Celtic, was loaned out to Sheffield Wednesday and although the Owls were reportedly interested in bringing him back in, they have now signed other targets so it looks like the 30-year-old winger will be moving else where.

Although he may not have had the most prolific time with Wednesday, scoring just one goal in 13 appearances, he still made a very big impact and I think bringing in a player of his stature would be a big coup for Blues.

Manager Gary Rowett has always said that he is prepared to wait for the right players to become available, especially from the top flight in England, and with squads now being finalised, Blues would do well to enquire about the possibility of bringing McGeady to St.Andrews.

Now I know at 30 he may not have many seasons left in him, but on his day, McGeady is a top quality player. He is somebody who would add a little bit of skill to what we currently have and he is a player that can operate on either flank so he would solve quite a few problems for Rowett.

Personally, he would be a player that I would focus quite a bit of time on and if we were to bring in one loan player this summer, I would love to see McGeady signing for Blues because I think he could be very influential player for us.
