“There will be players leaving”: Blues boss Karanka updates fans on club’s transfer business

|

Trimming off the unnecessary fat.

That appears to be the method that Aitor Karanka is going to be taking over the next couple of days as he tries to get his squad down to who he wants, without anyone acting as an unnecessary weight. Having already allowed Steve Seddon to leave on loan, there could be a couple more heading the same way before the window closes a week on Monday.

Speaking during his press conference ahead of the game with Rotherham, Karanka gave fans an update on the transfer business done so far by Blues both in and out, claiming that he wants players to be able to play rather than doing nothing:

Blues will finish _____ than last season?

Higher

Lower

I like the fact that he mentioned the academy in there to boot. As someone who has been an advocate of playing the youngsters on occasion, to see that there will be opportunities for them going forward is very encouraging to see.

What about you? What do you make of Karanka’s comments about players being allowed to leave? Who do you think will be next?
