“There has been no contact”: Journalist plays down the notion of former Blue making a comeback

Well, you can cross that name off the list.

Although I’m not sure if we’re in a position to be picky when it comes to players coming in. After all, beggars can’t be choosers.

As I’m sure you’re aware by now, after the departures of Connal Trueman and Lee Camp, Blues are rather short when it comes to the goalkeeper department right now and in desperate need of some bodies.

But by the sounds of it, there’s one man who isn’t going to be taking that job anytime soon and that’s Joe Hart. The 33-year-old of course played at St Andrew’s back in 2009/10, and obviously still holds a place in the hearts of a couple of supporters based on his time with us.

Was Joe Hart our best goalkeeper of the 2010s?

Yes

No

However, according to BBC West Midlands journalist Richard Wilford, fans shouldn’t be getting their hopes up too high on the idea of him playing for us in the near future.

I did write a few months ago that I wouldn’t be in favour of him coming back, but at that point I didn’t see the goalkeeper position getting this depleted. Would I be willing to have him back now given the way things have gone? Probably, although he wouldn’t be my first-choice of targets all things considered.

What about you? What do you make of this news surrounding Hart?
