After Blues turned down yet another approach, his agent Barry Neville, has started whinging.

Ignoring my own beliefs on Upson, Neville is claiming that Blues have gone back on a verbal agreement to sell the player for a set fee after 4 years.

There’s that pig and I smell ****!

Let’s for a second believe this is true and Blues did give him a verbal – that makes Neville a useless agent because he failed to protect his clients rights by getting it writing.

Now let’s believe the truth, it’s nonsense. At no point during his contract discussions did they agree that in somepoint after 4 years he could leave for what is being reported as £6 million.

It would not happen, if had’ve it would’ve been in writing and I doubt it would’ve been for a derisory £6 million.

Had Neville been on the ball he would’ve complained about the touting and the mention of ‘silly money’ being £10 million (should Chelsea have bid was the example given), but he didn’t. He’s gone for the PR stunt of criticising the club over something he cannot possibly prove and all the club can say is ‘no we didn’t’ so it turns into a pantomime.

‘Matt is disappointed after having been told he could leave Birmingham for a certain amount – and what has been offered has gone way past that.

‘There’s not really much more I can say other than I’m disappointed and I’m disappointed for Matt.

‘As to whether he would be interested in a move to West Ham, that can’t be answered until a bid has been accepted.’

Personally I think Upson should be disciplined over this. He contracts the agent to work and speak on his behalf, the agent would not have said this had he not had the all clear from Upson – if anything else was true, Upson would’ve denied this by now and criticised his agent, he hasn’t – therefore he is as guilty for bringing the club into disrepute with detrimental publicity as his agent who actually opened his gob.
