The super seven of January! Option No.5

As we come ever close to the end of this series about the January transfer window, I thought it would only be right to dive back into the lower leagues again.

In the second edition of these articles, I talked about Blues potentially making a swoop for Walsall hotshot Tom Bradshaw and once again I have picked a League One star in the making.

For my fifth option, I have decided, with the help of fellow Vital Birmingham writer, Luke Turner, that Blues should make a move for Gillingham midfielder Bradley Dack.

The Gills currently sit second in the third tier of English football and Dack is someone who has helped their progress immensely this season.

At the age of 22, Dack is somebody who Blues boss Gary Rowett could mould into a very good player, not that he isn’t one already, but he may come at around the same cost as Bradshaw would, which is around £1 million.

Some fans might be thinking that that price is a little bit too much for somebody who has only really started to develop properly this season.

Well, his stats warrant his price tag and I have to agree with the stats! He is a player that I personally believe would improve the Blues squad and help with our promotion push.

So far this season, Dack has managed to find the back of the net 13 times in all competitions, but like Blues’ very own Maikel Kieftenbeld, he does tend to pick up a high amount of bookings with the Englishman already on nine for the term.

However, his structured progress over the last three seasons has seen him rise and he is now rated as one of the best midfielders outside the top two divisions.

As I have previously mentioned in this series, Rowett has hinted at the fact that he would like to take the creative strain off holding midfielder Stephen Gleeson and I think Dack could be the man to do that.

Just think, if the young midfielder contributed 10 goals in the second half of the season to this already strong squad, who knows, we could be sitting as high as fourth in the table.

Blues fans, do you think a move for the 22 year old would be a good one? Would he be able to make the step up? Let us know in the comment section down below!
