The super seven of January! Option No.4

As I hit the midway point of this series, I thought it was only right that I say what everyone else is thinking…

Gary Rowett, go and bring Sebastian Larsson back to St.Andrews!!!

The former Blues midfielder enjoyed a very successful five year spell with the club and he was part of the team that won the 2011 Carling Cup.

Currently at Sunderland, the 30 year old has struggled with injuries this season and it is believed that he is being deemed surplus requirements at the Stadium of Light.

Over the Christmas period down at St.Andrews I have heard many fans whisper the name ‘Seb Larsson’ and I think if Rowett was to make a move for the Swedish central midfielder, he may well jump at the chance to rejoin the club where he enjoyed his best football.

Seb made just over 150 appearances for Blues and I think given the right time he could become a vital part of the Rowett regime.

Last month Rowett talked about taking the creative strain off Stephen Gleeson and I think Larsson could be the man to do that and I also think we could get him in a cut price deal.

Some fans might be thinking, don’t bring him back if he is injury prone or if he came back it could ruin his last few seasons of football.

But, to those fans I say have a little faith! Larsson could be available for less than £500,000 and judging by how well Rowett has done with bringing players in, I think he could get Seb playing well again for us.

I am not saying that this move would happen because Rowett tends to go for the younger players nowadays but in football we have to remember…anything can happen!

Blues fans, would you like to see Seb Larsson return to St.Andrews for a season or two? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section down below!
