The super seven of January! Option No.3

In the third article of the week, I have opted to go from somebody who potentially could be a very good signing for us, and it is one that most people will not have heard of.

Previously, I chose two players that are well associated with Blues, but my next choice is a little outside the box.

Blues boss Gary Rowett has hinted at the fact that he would like to bring a new left back into the club and for that reason I have chosen to take a look at Sebastien Pocognoli.

The Belgium born defender has only played one game for West Bromwich Albion this season and has already been linked with a move to the Championship earlier on in the season, with Brighton and Hove Albion apparently interested.

Baggies fans seem to have forgotten about their left back and looking at it from the outside, you have to ask yourself, has something gone on there? Why isn’t he playing when the club are struggling in that part of the pitch.

For me, I think Pocognoli would be a fantastic signing for us and he would certainly give current left back Jonathan Grounds some real competition.

Despite Mitch Hancox arriving back at the club, I don’t think the youngster has much potential to strive at Blues and if another left back was brought in then he would most certainly be on his way out.

Having played only one game for the Baggies, I can’t see why they wouldn’t allow him to go out on loan and especially to a local side where they can keep a close eye on him.

Should a move materialise for him, I could see Grounds being pushed into a centre back partnership with Michael Morrison and Pocognoli becoming our first choice full back.

Blues fans, would you like to see the club make a move for Sebastien Pocognoli? Do you think he would improve our squad? Let us know in the comment section down below!
