The potential loan ranger – Option No.1

In this new five part series, I will be discussing the potential loan signings that could make all the difference to Gary Rowett’s side in the play-off push.

Like out ‘super seven of January’ series, I have looked in depth at the five options and I have tried to spread the options across the board, from defenders, attackers and I’ve even thrown a midfielder into the mix.

To begin with I have chosen a striker that Blues fans will have watched not too long ago. AFC Bournemouth striker Tokelo Rantie makes it onto the list as the first person that could be brought in by Rowett.

Although he hasn’t been overly prolific during his time with the Cherries, Eddie Howe might be willing to let him go out on loan after they recently signed Lewis Grabban and Benik Afobe.

I think he would be a very good signing for Blues if they could get him in on the right deal and even though we have three strikers in our ranks at the moment, I still believe that there is room for one more.

Rantie would offer a burst of pace and I think he could even play off the likes of Clayton Donaldson and James Vaughan which would be something different for Rowett to consider.

Making only six appearances this season for the top flight side, Rantie may now be deemed surplus requirements by Howe and I think that is when teams will start sniffing around him and I would like to think that Rowett is one of them.

His wages may be a problem if Blues did ever make a move for him but the staff at St.Andrews are very good at juggling things around and I am sure that they would be able to work something out for the South African forward.

Blues fans, what do you make of this suggestion? Do you think that Tokelo Rantie would be a good addition to the Birmingham City squad? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section down below!
