A look back at the last time Blues met Boro at St Andrews…

City Fightback For Much Needed Points.

Birmingham twice came from behind to win 3-2 at St Andrews on Friday night.

On paper it looked like a tough one for Blues with Boro looking to go level at the top of the Championship with leaders Cardiff.

Tony Mowbray’s side had gone ahead in the 14th minute when captain Grant Leadbitter got on the end of an Andy Halliday cross to head home.

But a penalty put Blues level when King was tripped in the area by Andre Bikey and then made no mistake from the spot.

On 62 minutes a bit of loose defending by Pablo Ibanez resulted in McDonald ending a goalmouth scramble by firing home to put the visitors in front for a second time.

That lead lasted just four minutes before Wade Elliott netted with a lob that keeper Jason Steele should really have saved.

And with around eight minutes left on the clock, Peter Lovenkrands found King with a pass and the ex-Watford man made sure that the home fans went home happy.

Blues moved nine points clear of the drop zone.
