Transfer talk, are you bored of it yet? No, me neither! I love seeing who we are linked with, no matter how ridiculous, but there comes a time when you just want somebody to be confirmed!

As of yet, nobody has been officially confirmed, although on Wednesday it was confirmed by the Birmingham Mail that Blues had made an approach for Derby County defender and former loanee, Ryan Shotton.

Many around the club, including myself, believe that this could and probably will be Blues’ first signing and should everything be agreed between the two clubs then I think it has the potential to move quickly.

Birmingham City know all about Shotton and he clearly enjoyed his time with the club during his loan spell in the second half of the 2015/16 season and by the sounds of things, he is very keen to come back to the club according to a source very close to Vital Birmingham.

During his initial spell with the club, the source revealed exclusively that he was very happy to be playing regular football and he was impressed with Gary Rowett’s man management during training, something he hadn’t been all too impressed with whilst he was with the Rams.

Moving away from a potential move for 27-year-old Shotton, it was also believed last week that former Hull City striker, Sone Aluko, was close to a move and it was rumoured that he would be checking out the facilities at Wast Hills at some point this week.

According to bcfcfollowers.com, Aluko was set to sign for Blues within the next 10 days, which means including today, the move could happen in the next three days, although that looks increasingly unlikely.

The striker, also aged 27, started out at Blues but his career didn’t take off with us and he could be a similar player to Adam Legzdins who will hope that the second try will work out better than the first one.

Finally, a third player that has been heavily linked with us for almost a year now is free agent Robert Tesche. The former loanee has been released by former parent club Nottingham Forest and it is believed that Rowett would love to bring the German midfielder back to the club but as we confirmed this week, no move has been made as of yet for the creative midfielder.

Blues went all out for the 29-year-old last summer but after being messed around for quite some time with the transfer, they opted for other targets but it now looks like the club will be going back in for one of their former targets.

Despite all the links, it is impossible to predict when Blues will announced their first signing of the summer transfer window but stick with us because when something does happen, we will let you know!

Blues fans, who do you think will be the first signing confirmed by the club? Let us know in the comment section down below!
