I think you’re going to like this one.
Not only because it gives us a chance to relive some great memories, but stay tuned for a rather unique twist at the end of the article. Today marks the 39th birthday for a rather special player in City’s recent history, Nikola Zigic.
Zigic certainly had an eventful career at Birmingham, from his goal in the 2011 League Cup Final victory, to his four-goal display at Elland Road and then capped off by his goal on the last day of the 2013/14 season away at Bolton which helped secured our Championship status in dramatic fashion.
So when @BirminghamFanTV sent out a message wishing him all the best on his special day, they asked fans to talk about what their favourite memories were of him.
Bolton away last game of the season. His impact at the end of the game saved this club from certain oblivion.

Although I feel this wasn’t quite the response that the account was looking for, but it was certainly a welcome sight.
Hi guys can i get a retweet for my pal @_baggyaaron who named his new puppy Christoph Novak Zigic after his 3 favourite players. pic.twitter.com/2yvgbJ84eK

Meanwhile, this fan’s response sparked a mini-debate of its own.
My favourite Zigic memory was when he left and stopped milking £60k p/w out of us for doing next to nothing

Worth every penny for that goal in the cup final

He deserved £60k a week and more. Hero ????????

The disrespect. Goal against Villa, goal & flick on for the Oba winner in the final, 4 at Leeds, not to mention his huge performance in the last 10 mins at Bolton which kept the club from going into the dark unknown imo. There have been far worse bleeds for the club financially.

Personally you can put me in the crowd of ‘he scored some important goals, so he gets a free pass’.
