The Big Build Up! Match Day!

Welcome back to the final edition of The Big Build Up and it’s match day folks! It’s the day we have all been waiting for for the past month!

I for one am looking forward to what looks like it could be a very entertaining game! However, like most fans, I will always hold a little something back just in case it doesn’t all go the way we would like it to.

Heading into the game, especially one with such a high profile hanging over it, I will always leave a little bit of caution in my back pocket but my hopefulness will be in my hands!

If we perform like we have done for the best part of this season, with determination and fight, then what’s to say that we won’t go to Villa Park this evening and get a result.

Admittedly, I have lost several hours of sleep over the excitement of this game! But I will be heading to Aston tonight with every belief that Gary Rowett’s men can march us through to the next round on the Capital One Cup.

Match day is always a special experience for fans, no matter whether the game they are going to is their first or whether it is their 500th game.

For me, the game against Tim Sherwood’s men isn’t just a game though. There is pride at stake and I hope for the sake of the players that they all go out there tonight and put 110% into their performance.

Pride in the Midlands if they win on the night will be something that they will always have above their heads. As Paul Devlin said to me earlier in the week, this game is one where the players will need to show what they are made of!

Looking at the two teams, both of which have been slightly inconsistent over the past few games with setbacks for both, I can see the game being won 2-1 either way.

Two goal scorers that I would back are Gabby Agbonlahor as he always seems to score against the Blues and Jon Toral because I think he has something different to offer which Villa defenders might not be able to handle.

Blues fans, are you nervous or excited about match day? What do you think the score will be? Are you heading to the game? If so, let us know in the comment section down below!
