BUCKLEY – Will Buckley, on loan from Sunderland, has been out of favour recently. When asked, a local media source said- “Buckley is a victim of the fact he (Gary Rowett) wants to get Viv Solomon-Otabor closer to the team”. It seems Buckley is surplus to requirements.

UNDERDOG – Blues will be underdogs for the clash against Burnley, just as they were for a play-off finish. Accumulating as many points between now and the end of the season is imperative to pass this season off as a success. A lot of pride is still to be played for.

RYAN SHOTTON – The on-loan Derby man has been picked at centre back for the last two games and has performed well. It is still too early to decide if he is the solution to Blues` defensive problems. But if he continues with this level of performance, he`ll do himself no harm.

NUMBER ONE – Tomasz Kuszczak has been the first choice stopper this season until Reading when he was replaced by Adam Legzdins. While Kuszczak didn`t do much wrong, I welcome Legzdins` opportunity to prove his worth after waiting patiently for his bow.

LINESMAN – Clayton Donaldson put the ball in the back of the net for what would have been the equaliser against Leeds. As we know, it was chalked out for offside. Having viewed the replay once (in real time) from a more awkward angle than the lino, it was so obviously onside. Apparently these things even themselves out? If that is the case, Blues must be due a huge slice of luck soon!

EXPECTATION – Having read some of the social media comments after Blues` defeat to Leeds, I have realised Blues fans (some, not all) have become a moaning, over expectant, unrealistic bunch. Gary Rowett has done a fantastic job but is still learning himself so mistakes will be made. Criticise, yes. But don`t wish him out the door, you`ll regret it when he leaves for a bigger club and we end up with Steve Evans or Chris Ramsey as manager.

YOUTH – Blues` development squad is performing well at the moment which, in theory, is good for the future of the first team. Ronan Hale and Alex Jones are scoring goals and Reece Brown seems to have pulled his finger out of his backside and playing football again.
