On Friday, the fixtures for the Carabao Cup first round were announced, and we got a pretty unappetising tie against Reading.
The game will be played most likely on Tuesday 14th August, although it could also be the Wednesday.
Fans on Twitter are not looking forward to the away match against the Royals:

Terrible draw, we never seem to get the rub of the green

Worst possible draw.

I'd rather an easy game with a good atmosphere than a game closer to our level in a library.

Verdict:
It will be equivalent to another Championship match in a fixture packed first month of the season. Hopefully, we have already gotten off to a good start with two wins from two when the cup tie comes round.
If that is the case, you can expect a number of changes to the starting line up for the game, probably from both teams.
Although I would really enjoy another great run akin to 2011, the priority for Garry Monk and the team needs to be the league. Much will depend on the depth of our squad next season to determine if we are able to compete on more than one front.
