Survival Sunday: One Final Game!

Tomorrow`s the day. Most, if not all of us, will still be in shock that we are even in this position but Blues have one game to ensure Championship survival.

After 45 games, it’s difficult for it to sink in that our future as a football club is coming down to one game away at Bristol City on what is now Survival Sunday for Blues.

By mid-afternoon tomorrow, Harry Redknapp`s side will either be safe in the Championship for another season or the unthinkable would’ve occurred- relegation to League One.

Just three years after that unforgettable day in Bolton, we are once again in an almost identical situation. One game to save ourselves but the difference? It’s in our own hands.

That’s huge for Blues and the fact that both Nottingham Forest and Blackburn both have to win to send us down is even more of a bonus.

However, Blues have to concentrate on getting the job done on their own. Last weeks performance and result against Huddersfield was the Blues side as we know it.

Hardworking, organised and resilient. We have to go to Bristol with the same approach as last week- the game has to be won in my eyes.

We can’t take any chances or rely on other results. Blues have their destiny in their own hands and it’s time for them to put this torrid season behind them by going out with a performance and result to remember tomorrow.

This season shouldn’t have happened particularly after how stable we were under Gary Rowett. But this is Blues and we expect the unexpected.

We’re not a club that should be in League One. Instead we should be eyeing up the Premier League but, in this moment, all focus is on guaranteeing Championship survival.

We know what we’ve got to do and the players will be fired up to get the job done.

The message is simple. Blues win- we are safe. That’s what we got to go out and do.
