Yesterday, the club announced the signing of Kristian Pedersen from Union Berlin.
It had been known for a number of weeks that the former Danish Under 21 international was set to move to St Andrew’s but they had been concerns that no official announcement had been made.
However, the 23-year-old has now signed on the dotted line, and fans on Twitter have welcomed the full-back to the club:
Superb signing

Wow, a signing of real intent. If we sign a left back for a few million, imagine what we will spend on a striker!
We are massive.
Welcome pedersen ????????

Verdict:
You always feel better when the first signing has been made. The lack of activity did make me slightly concerned that we were in for a quiet summer, despite the need for major surgery on the squad.
Hopefully, this is the sign of many more new recruits to come. Of course, a lot depends on players like Stockdale and Grounds, who are surplus to requirements, also leaving, but I am optimistic that we can now make a few further additions.
A central midfielder, a striker and a goalkeeper are the three positions that we will hopefully see some movement on in the coming weeks.
