Various reports are suggesting that Birmingham City are readying a move for out of favour Sunderland winger Will Buckley.

The former Brighton and Hove Albion player moved to the Premier League side last season and has gone on to make 22 appearances for the Black Cats but now it looks like he is destined for pastures new.

Sites like the Birmingham Mail and PA Sport believe that Buckley is a serious target for Blues boss Gary Rowett and I also happen to believe that this is true also.

Rumours have been flying round since Demarai Gray left for Leicester City on Monday afternoon and Buckley seems to be the most concrete one with reports hinting that he has been on Rowett’s radar since August.

Back in August I believed that Buckley was one of the players that Rowett was looking at on deadline day but he failed in a bid to sign him on a six month loan deal.

Instead, the Rochdale academy product moved to Leeds United on the 2nd of October and he then went on to make his Lilywhites debut against none other than Birmingham City, a game in which Rowett’s side won 2-0.

Blues fans, would you be interested to see Will Buckley brought into the club? Would he be a positive signing? Let us know in the comment section down below!
