Clayton Donaldson has been told he can seek a move away from Birmingham City should the ‘right deal’ come along.

The 33-year-old missed a large chunk of last season through injury before returning to the fray during the latter stages of the campaign.

Vital Birmingham understands that while Harry Redknapp is keen to keep hold of the striker, he is unable to offer him assurances of first team football as he looks to strengthen his squad.

Blues will allow Donaldson to depart St. Andrews on a free transfer should the player find himself a satisfactory offer elsewhere.

Donaldson joined Blues three years ago from Brentford and has scored 33 goals in 113 appearances. He also has 10 caps for Jamaica.
