Our colleagues over at Vital Stoke posed the question, who do Stoke fans want to see as their no 1 goalkeeper next season and former Birmingham graduate Jack Butland won with 65% of the vote.
Butland has broken into the team in recent weeks and put in an impressive display last time out in particular. He has picked up 2 clean sheets out of his last 3 games.
Perhaps the Stoke fans see this decision as something of a long term plan. A very good keeper in goal that could well be there for a very long time. A stable keeper behind a defence can really assert himself and provide the platform for a team remain solid through the years.
There is also the small matter of transfer speculation surrounding Asmir Begovic which Vital Stoke say may have lead to some uncharacteristic displays in between the sticks.

, and I have a feeling that should Begovic leave, Stoke will be just fine with Butland wearing the gloves.
Born in Bristol, Butland signed on as a trainee goalkeeper at Birmingham. After loan spells with Cheltenham he broke into the Blues first team before being taken to stoke for around £4 million.
He returned on loan and made 17 appearances before venturing to the Premier League. Since then he has had to made do with loans at Barnsley, Leeds and Derby before finally getting a chance towards the end of this season.
