He’s good, but not good enough.
That seemed to be the general consensus amongst Birmingham City fans when they were discussing the latest name to be linked with a move to St Andrew’s. According to Football Insider, Blues are one of a number of Championship clubs that are interested in bringing in Ipswich Town forward Kayden Jackson after he turned down a new contract at Portman Road.
The 26-year-old was in reasonable form for the Tractor Boys last season, scoring 11 goals and chipping in with 7 assists in his 36 appearances before the season was cut short.
With new Blues boss Aitor Karanka preferring to operate with just one man up front, and with top scorer Lukas Jutkiewicz likely to take the starting role as the one next season, the best Jackson could possibly hope for is as a substitute, which according to these Blues fans is probably just about where he deserves to be in their opinion.
Good back up player

Not for me

Agree it's a challenge to get a striker that prolific. Everyone wants one. But if he's not got a track record as a goalscorer near this level and is aged 26, he's unlikely to start now. 3 goals in 36 games in his only Championship season in 18/19. Not enough to be 1st choice ST

Doesn't score enough goals to be our main striker up front. 3 in 36 in 18/19 in the Championship doesn't inspire. Whilst he got 11 in League One last season that's still not sufficient unless he's merely a backup. We need someone to be capable of getting 15+ goals for us.

That’s my main issue with him. I quite like the look of his all round play, but we need goals from somewhere. Hopefully signings like this would be squad padding only

Kayden Jackson looks a similar type of player to Isaac Vassell to me. A strong and quick nuisance player with average ball control and finishing. Having done a bit of research on him, I wouldn't complain if we signed him, but only as a backup. Nothing more #bcfc

What about you? Do you think we should be going after Jackson?
