Birmingham City have today announced the departure of midfielder Stephen Gleeson with the 29-year-old joining fellow Sky Bet Championship side Ipswich Town.

The Irishman has been allowed to join the Tractor Boys on a free transfer, meaning that he is the third player that manager Steve Cotterill has allowed to leave the club on a permanent deal.

Gleeson follows both David Cotterill and Emilio Nsue who have both moved onto pastures new with the club’s best wishes.

With movement out of the club, Cotterill is hopeful of bringing in at least one new face next week to freshen his side up.

Blues fans, are you happy to see Gleeson leave or do you think we needed his creativity? Let us know in the comment section down below!
