Wes McDonald enjoyed a good afternoon out for Blues, scoring twice as the team won 3-0. Rounding off a good week for all of Birmingham’s fixtures.

Kyle McFarlane scored first on 25 minutes, and not looking back from then on, the academy made good use of their lead. Blues scored again just before half time (McDonald).

With the game nearing its end and no doubt as some supporters were heading for the exit McDonald rounded off the performance; scoring his second.

Academy coach Steve Spooner gave these remarks to the club’s website:

‘Every single one of the players played their part, … We passed the ball well, got close to people and played at a high tempo.

It was a big plus to score three goals away from home and also keep a clean sheet.’
