Birmingham`s development side lost 3-1 to the Welsh Champions The New Saints yesterday. There were plenty of Lee Clark`s men involved, though.
The players were there to pick up some extra match fitness before the opening game of the season this Saturday, against Middlesbrough.
Doyle was in goal, he is not expected to play as number one for this season. Jonathan Hancox got just over 70 minutes. Olly Lee and Callum Reilly also played, they also may not expect to be starting against Middlesbrough.
New boy Denny Johnstone is behind in pre-season preparation and got a full run out, hitting the woodwork with a crashing header.
Lee Clark had confirmed there would be some boys involved who hadn`t had too much of a chance in the first team either through injury or other players being preferred.
Blues now have a full squad of healthy players, with the exception of Matt Green, to pick from for their next game as Birmingham are expected to line up similarly to how they did against Inverness.
