This latest shambles of a performance left Birmingham City in the bottom three and that leaves them needing a win from their next home game against Wigan.

The home voodoo struck again as Leeds set about claiming the double over City and scoring seven goals in the process.

Not wanting to dwell on this latest defeat longer than we have to but the writing was on the wall as soon as Smith got his head in to guide the ball past Randolph in the Blues goal

The second which was certainly expected by everyone in the stadium came just two minutes later on the 60 minute mark, this time it was Pugh who fired home much to the delight of the traveling Leeds fans behind the goal.

Paul Caddis stuck a leg out and guided the ball past his own keeper to give the jubilant Leeds fans even more to crow about with just 11 minutes left on the clock.

Leeds eased off then which was strange as they could have hit another couple, but that did allow Federico Macheda a late consolation goal, firing home with his left foot.

The win leaves Leeds sitting pretty in 15th place which is not bad considering that before they faced Blues they could hardly buy a win.

As for City, this long and enduring season will be over in two games time and with Blackpool somehow managing to beat Wigan at the JB Stadium, Blues also need to beat Wigan on Tuesday night.

That on its own wont keep Blues up of course, they will still need something from the Crawley game before we can not so much celebrate, but look back at a disastrous run.

After the game, Lee Clark told the BBC: ‘I believe that I have the backing of the players. A bit of nervous tension has crept in and we need to find a way of eradicating this in the last two games.

‘Our poor home form is reality. I cannot affect the past but I can the future so why not go out with bang in our last home game against Wigan by winning?

‘That would set us up for the last match of the season to give us an opportunity to stay in the league. We were energetic and powerful in the first half but to give away goals like we did you get punished.’
