‘Someone order a statue of this guy’: Some Blues fans have a message for this player

|

Congratulations and jubilations, as Cliff Richard so eloquently put it.

Today is the 34th birthday for one of Birmingham City’s goalkeepers, David Stockdale.

Stockdale joined the club back in 2017 and went on to establish himself as the club’s number one in his first season, however he fell down the pecking order with the arrival of Lee Camp and subsequently spent last season on loan at Wycombe Wanderers, Coventry City and Southend United.

Stockdale has come in for a lot of stick whilst he’s been at St Andrew’s, but fans were quick to put their differences aside in wishing him all the best on his special day.

Although, there were a few people who were less than complimentary when it came to what they wrote the stopper. To which I say, really is that the best you could come up with?

Perhaps Pep Clotet would be able to let him start tomorrow as a bit of a birthday treat. As I said earlier in the summer, it probably would be the better option over Lee Camp, but I’ll leave that up to him.

What have been your thoughts on Stockdale’s time in B9?
