It might be one of the better goals that we ever scored whilst we’ve been in the Championship.
But if you can think of any better, then by all means please feel free to let me know, because I can’t really think of any.
I’m talking of course about Jon Toral’s screaming volley against Ipswich town from the 2015/16, a goal that would later go on to win the Goal of the Season award at the end of the campaign. The Spaniard was highly impressive during his loan spell with us, and it’s a real shame that we couldn’t make the deal permanent.

So when the Blues social media team decided to put out the wonder strike as part of their ‘name the goal’ challenge, it gave fans a great chance to talk about not just the goal itself, but also what a great player he was for the club during his short stint at St Andrew’s, perhaps hinting at a potential reunion at some point at the same time.

He went to Rangers afterwards. My Brother is a season ticket holder there and I gave Toral a great reference. Alas he was not impressed. Not one bit.
