The motive may have been good, but the execution of it made the whole thing even better.
Having spent plenty of time on the injury table in the early part of the season, Gary Gardner has come back into the side and really turned a page since the start of the New Year, grabbing a goal in the win over Luton and providing the assist for Lukas Jutkiewicz against Brentford this past weekend.
More than that though, he’s managed to build quite a good partnership in defensive midfield with Ivan Sunjic. With Blues boss Pep Clotet calling them both out for significant praise:
“The Gazza and Ivan partnership is superb at the minute, and remember that most of the teams in the Championship play with three midfielders, but we don’t see that creating problems for us because of the organisation of the team and the effort of those two.”
So when the club put out a tweet yesterday praising the midfielder’s efforts, Blues fans were more than happy to join in with the praise.
He was electric yesterday. Man of the match by a mile. Camp is fire too recently

Although there were some eagle-eyed fans who pointed out the timing of the tweet, spotting that the tweet about the ex-Villa man went out right about the time that his former side fell to defeat against Spurs.
The timing on this post 😉😂

Although whether or not it was intentional, only the person behind the tweet will know.
