‘Solid’, ‘good luck’: Lots of Blues fans throw their support behind 33-year-old

|

With international football dominating the agenda, the U23s is the only bit of club football there is to tide us over.

Not that that’s a bad thing, especially as it’s a good chance for us to see one David Stockdale for the first time this season in competitive action.

Stockdale has found game time a little bit hard to come by recently at St Andrew’s. Having been the number one goalkeeper for the majority of the 2017/18 season, he failed to make a single appearance last term and instead found himself on loan at Coventry City, Southend United and Wycombe Wanderers. However, he’s not willing to give up the fight for his place in the first team just yet.

Speaking after the U23s 1-0 defeat to Bristol City yesterday, Stockdale spoke about he believes in himself and how he thinks that will see him become the number one soon.

And there were a number of supporters who wanted to get behind him and show their support to the 33-year-old stopper.

I have said before that I think David Stockdale should be the number one goalkeeper at St Andrew’s, so it’s good to see that he hasn’t given up hope of dislodging Lee Camp someday. Hopefully it’ll be sooner rather than later.
