Birmingham City have this morning been linked with a move for Australian captain Mark Milligan.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Milligan is one of several first team players in the national side who are looking to sort their futures out in the next few days and Blues are set to battle Burton Albion for his signature.

The report suggests that the 31-year-old, who has been playing in the UAE with Baniyas FC, will have his representatives meet with potential suitors in London in the next few days in the hopes of having something finalised by the end of the week.

The defensive midfielder, who turns 32 in August, would provide that bit of experience that Blues are lacking when it comes to having a midfielder who knows how to defender.

However, with the resources that the club currently have on offer, I believe that Milligan will more the likely move to Burton where his fellow countryman, and one time Blues target, Jackson Irvine plays his football.

Blues fans, is this the strangest link we have seen so far this summer? Would you risk taking Mark Milligan on for a season? Let us know in the comment section down below!
