Silence, For Once With Birmingham City, Is Golden Over Transfer Rumour

For once most Bluenoses will agree that silence is golden surrounding Che Adams from St.Andrews.

Speculation is mounting about his possible departure to the Premier League. The Birmingham Mail say there is a chase on for him with Southampton being a contender.

Rumours persist including at Football League World that Newcastle United are also interested.

Figures from £8m to £14m has been banded around in these reports with little credibility as to what Adams real worth is.

Yes we know that this time of the summer every player of note will have the rumours flying around about who’s coming and who’s going. What supporters do know however is that Adams is a genuine asset and should be treated so. We hope Garry Monk and the hierarchy will do their utmost to hold on to this player and build a team capable of a promotion push, around him.

Having Vassell, Jutkiewich, Bellingham and no doubt (in my opinion) a new addition in attacking terms, this group with Adams could be as potent as any in the Championship.

This particular window is unique in terms of closure as all deals must be done by the first fixture of the season. Hopefully, a statement concerning that Adams is staying for another season will come, although situations do change very quickly in football and in particular at St.Andrews.

Blues supporters I have spoken to since the final match against Reading all centre on the Jude Bellingham (links to a Brum Mail article, who is Jude?) position, and particularly whether he will be given a squad number for the new campaign. I have not seen nor heard if there is any news on this front. Perhaps others have.

Another point of interest is the new blues kit which certainly divides opinions from fellow bluenoses. Whilst the debate continues, the one item that delights the majority is the wonderful ‘peaky blinders’short video. Real class.

All characters in this setting are perfectly chosen and in my opinion look every bit what a true Blues player is all about – but I would say that wouldn’t I.
