For once most Bluenoses will agree that silence is golden surrounding Che Adams from St.Andrews.

Speculation is mounting about his possible departure to the Premier League. The Birmingham Mail say there is a chase on for him with Southampton being a contender.

Rumours persist including at Football League World that Newcastle United are also interested.

Figures from £8m to £14m has been banded around in these reports with little credibility as to what Adams real worth is.

Yes we know that this time of the summer every player of note will have the rumours flying around about who’s coming and who’s going. What supporters do know however is that Adams is a genuine asset and should be treated so. We hope Garry Monk and the hierarchy will do their utmost to hold on to this player and build a team capable of a promotion push, around him.

Having Vassell, Jutkiewich, Bellingham and no doubt (in my opinion) a new addition in attacking terms, this group with Adams could be as potent as any in the Championship.

This particular window is unique in terms of closure as all deals must be done by the first fixture of the season. Hopefully, a statement concerning that Adams is staying for another season will come, although situations do change very quickly in football and in particular at St.Andrews.

Blues supporters I have spoken to since the final match against Reading all centre on the Jude Bellingham (links to a Brum Mail article, who is Jude?) position, and particularly whether he will be given a squad number for the new campaign. I have not seen nor heard if there is any news on this front. Perhaps others have.

Another point of interest is the new blues kit which certainly divides opinions from fellow bluenoses. Whilst the debate continues, the one item that delights the majority is the wonderful ‘peaky blinders’short video. Real class.

All characters in this setting are perfectly chosen and in my opinion look every bit what a true Blues player is all about – but I would say that wouldn’t I.

  • SUCH A STAR PLAYER IN EVERY BLUENOSE HEART ..IF CHE WANTS TO BETTER HIMSELF THEN LET HIM GO…CHE YOU ARE BETTER THAN GRELISH

  • Jude isn’t 16 till the end of this month and infact plays in midfield. Whilst he’ll likely be involved in preseason would be surprised if involved regularly. Just look how little playing time Trueman and Lakin got last season

    • Jude Billingham I could possibly wrong because I haven’t seen that much of him but he looks to be a box to box midfielder. Looks to have great pace and movement and he’s banging going against under 21s players twice his age. He could be brought on when the opposition are tired who would want to chase him around winning on my last legs.

  • I’ve got a feeling Che is going to stay this season and try and get us into the Play Offs. Financially think things are a lot better with Jota off the wage bill and also some money in for the transfer. Just need Butland to go now as well to get some more funds in to keep us within FFP figures.

  • Valid points made by Linda regarding Bellingham.Hopefully Jude will get games at selected home games next season. Most I would think will be in 45 minute roles. Like everything in football, if a player is good enough etc..then provided he can handle the physicality then play him. St.Andrews has waited a long time to watch a new ‘diamond’ and this player might just be the one.

  • Pointless letting Adams go unless we get offered silly money, i.e. 20 million plus, or he demands a transfer.

  • Best deal would be for Blues to get circa: £12/15m and have him loaned back to us for a season maybe? We desperately need speed as well as vision in the team, poorly lacked in these 2 departments over the last few years. GM needs players of speed up front and vision in midfield, however quality will not be found in abundance through the lower divisions. GM and Supporters deserve to see better quality players than what we have but where are we financially? Is there any monies at all? Can we get the quality needed to make an impact next season, or is is “same as per usual”? This particular Blogs title ” Silence is Golden…” and is referring to the keeping of Adams, however I will extend this yet again to “Ren and his Merry Men of the Unknown”…cmon who are the owners, talk the club up for once…hello anyone there! its pre-season, why arn’t you getting the confidence message’s out there to us all?..c’mon Ren sell the clubs virtues on social media to get us hyped up for the new season and breed confidence(there’s a serious chance you might even sell more season tickets and merchandise, or are you simply not interested?)…Hey better still why don’t you sell up and let someone come in who wants to have a rapport with Supporters and invest in a club that oozzes big potential..PLEASE! Or is it simply “Silence is perhaps not all golden”?
