Birmingham City defender Ryan Shotton could be out for up to three weeks after sustaining a groin problem in last Tuesday`s defeat against Reading.

The centre half missed Blues` 1-0 victory over Fulham at the weekend along with captain Michael Morrison, who is also struggling with a groin strain.

Jonathan Grounds and 38-year-old Paul Robinson deputised for the pair on Saturday as Blues recorded their first win under Gianfranco Zola.

Shotton`s injury could mean that he misses Blues` next two matches away at Sheffield Wednesday and Preston.
