Blues U18s’ came up across a very difficult Sheffield United side hoping to keep their form up.

Charlie Cooper was instrumental throughout and he was the man who got the break through. He sent a devilish shot into the net following good play by the Blues. 1-0 before the 50 minute mark.

However, the Blades fought back. Against the run of play, they calmly slotted home.

With 1 minute remaining, Bailey came up with the winner. The striker had composure and he slotted the ball to the side of the rushing goalkeeper. Nothing more than they deserved.

This extends their unbeaten run in the league to 8 games.

Gareth Holmes spoke to the official site after the game and this is what was said:

“The boys showed some great resilience throughout the game,’ he said.

“The boys are showing some real consistency – not just going forward but also from the defensive side.’

Sheffield United were energetic and so I think he has a point. The back four were superb in stopping many attacks but also the midfield’s pressuring was second to none.
