‘Sacked by Xmas’, ‘get real’: Not all Birmingham fans share manager’s optimism

|

At least wait until you’ve lost a game before you start getting negative.

Pep Clotet held his first press conference yesterday ahead of the new season and it appears as though he’s confident heading into campaign.

“I think Birmingham will be able to move gradually to where we want to go, but also know or remember where we came from, what the values are in this city and in this Club. I am lucky enough to know that and I will try to find a blend to make sure everyone who is a fan of Birmingham sees something they like in the team.”

So he should be, after the good business that the club have done over the summer, bringing in talent like Ivan Sunjic, Dan Crowley and Jake Clarke-Salter as well as giving contract extensions to Harlee Dean and Lukas Jutkiewicz.

“We are satisfied with the players who have come in because they fit the idea.”

However, it looks as if Birmingham fans didn’t quite share the same level of enthusiasm.

Some fans though took their lack of confidence to an extreme level though, predicting that the Spaniard won’t even last until the festive season. One fan didn’t even think he’d be around to see Halloween, now that’s gloomy.
