Premier League side Everton have this afternoon confirmed the signing of one time Birmingham City target Henry Onyekuru.

Blues were believed to have bid in the region of £7.5 million for the 20-year-old forward but the Toffees stole in earlier this week and they have moved quickly to complete the deal.

He has joined Everton from Belgian side Eupen for an undisclosed fee and he is now to spent the 2017/18 season with Anderlecht, where he will be playing Champions League football.

The Nigerian, who can play on the left wing or upfront, has signed a five-year contract with the top flight side meaning he will be on their books until 2022.

In his 60 games for Eupen, Onyekuru needed an impressive return of 30 goals meaning he averaged a goal every two games.

His desire to one day play in the Premier League led to him choosing Everton over Blues.
