Rowett Wants Birmingham Role

Gary Rowett would take the Birmingham job should it be offered to him, it would seem.

In a recent interview with Burtonmail.co.uk he did not rule himself out of the running and indeed said

Everyone knows my position on a club like Birmingham

It would appear that Gary would come into the club with a tremendous amount of pride, taking over a club he once played for. He didn’t go all out and declare his interest, though.

Of course he has a job to do at Burton and may well not be in the running for all we know. With that said he actually went on to mostly discuss the achievements of everyone at Burton and branded this interest as a feather in their cap.

Birmingham have already had an approach for MK Dons boss Karl Robinson turned down, maybe Rowett will be getting a call after all?

Does Rowett have the required experience to be taking over a club near the bottom of the Championship? I would say no, but that doesn’t mean he wouldn’t be able to do this job. However employing someone from Burton Albion has it’s risks.

What is important is that we don’t spend too much time approaching manager’s that may not want the job, that could become embarrassing for the club, and we have had enough of that!

Would you be happy with Gary Rowett? What would he bring to the job?
