Birmingham City were on the possible verge of a first dip in form this season, following defeats to Aston Villa and Rotherham. However they managed to bounce back in their latest away win and it seems as though the manager couldn’t be happier.

Rowett started by addressing a bit of a myth about his reign at the club, Whilst speaking to bcfc.com ‘It’s been said we’ve never lost back to back league games but we did, last season, Ipswich and Brighton away.’

Birmingham did manage to respond to both of those heavy defeats and most people would agree that under Rowett, Blues are rarely out of touch with their opponents. Something of a regular occurrence under previous management.

It is interesting to hear how Rowett views differing situations and although he remains confident in his players, results clearly have a huge affect on his thinking ‘It’s ridiculous to say isn’t it, but you almost felt the last week or so that we were in the bottom three – but we needed to win on Tuesday to go fifth.’

Blues are now back on track, as wins quite often remove loses from the recent memory. Next up are Leeds United, no easy task at all, but as the team have now managed to remove the tiny cloud from over them I would expect a close game and hope for a fantastic result.

Rowett finished with ‘You know, I think we worked incredibly hard at Brentford and it was a great reaction from the team and great character. I am really pleased for the players and supporters.’
