Blues boss Gary Rowett believes that his side must move on quickly from Tuesday`s defeat at Blackburn and is looking ahead to the local derby versus Wolves on Sunday.

In his press match press conference earlier today, Rowett told bcfc.com: “We are getting to the point now where if we lose a game we have to move on incredibly quickly.

“We can’t dwell on anything. We are in a fantastic position still. If we win our game in hand, we are in the play offs.”

Rowett also highlighted the importance of following up one good performance with another.

He said: “It doesn’t hide the disappointment when you have played so well on the Thursday night against Hull and then not performed in certain areas against Blackburn.

“But we are asking the group to put in a performance like Hull and then to go again and put another performance in, which is an almighty ask.

“But that’s where we are; we are at the stage of the season where we have got to demand that. We have got to move on very, very quickly.”

On the local derby against Wolves, Rowett said: “It’s a huge game for the fans, we saw it last season. In our first game we drew at Molineux which was an excellent result for us at the time.

“The second game we went a goal down, came back and won the game 2-1. A great atmosphere and a wonderful game for us.

“As we know we lost the home game this season. So this ones a big one. It’s a big one for the fans and it’s a big one for us anyway.

“The fact that it’s a local derby just adds a little bit more spice to the mix and I’m sure will only serve to give both teams an added motivation.”

Rowett also talked about the mixed fortunes Kenny Jackett`s side have had and the impact of losing key players.

He said: “They’ve had a mixed time I think, I’ve seen them play very well against the likes of Derby and I’ve seen them play well in halves against other teams and not so well in another half.

“They’ve obviously lost some key attacking players which I think any side would see an impact. You’ve seen it with ourselves losing Demarai, occasionally away from home it just changes just a little bit of how you play and the dynamics.

“They’re in a bit of transition but I think that’s it’s only two or three wins that could take you out of that transition to be a team still pushing for the play offs.”
