Gary Rowett has officially taken over at Birmingham City today and he spoke directly to the clubs media outlet about the move.

He said that despite turning down other jobs, he always knew that he would want to take over at Birmingham should the job become available.

The new manager described his time with Blues as the best two years of his playing career. His time at Birmingham had stayed with him since leaving.

In terms of the new backroom staff, Rowett said the team are people he can trust and know very well. Kevin Somerfield for example joined him at Burton two years ago.

When asked about exeriance Rowett explained that he has more prior expirience than he is given for. He has been coaching for over ten years and has assisted beghind the scenes before taking over at burton.

The team from now on should be more organised that are difficult to beat as that is what he explained would be imported from his time at Burton.

Rowett spoke with authority and confidence when asked about what he would be doing over the next couple of weeks to take on the Birmingham and that can only be a good start.
