Blues manager Gary Rowett could commit his long term future to the club after the pending takeover has been completed.

Last season, Rowett put pen to paper on improved terms. However, the contracts duration still remains rolling for 12 months. The contract suited both parties, Blues had no extra singnifacnt financial outlay and Rowett wasn’t tied to a lengthy deal which he’d be obliged to continue with even if Blues’ financial situation took a turn for the worse.

But Vital Blues understands that Rowett wouldn’t be against committing to his position at St. Andrews longer term once a takeover has been agreed.

A source close to the Blues manager said – ‘the current deal was agreed for a reason, in case the finances implode again. But if the takeover happens and Gary is given a clear assurances and backing, he wouldn’t see a reason to move on’.
