Rowett After a Loan Ranger

Blues manager Gary Rowett could delve into the loan market if Clayton Donaldson is unavailable after his international appearances for Jamaica.

The Don, 31, has been named in the Reggae Boys’ squad for their games against Panama (November 14) and Haiti (November 17) meaning he could miss Charlton Athletic’s visit to St. Andrew’s.

And with only unproven Nicolai Brock-Madsen as back-up, Rowett may pounce for an emergency loan deal.

A source at Birmingham City said- ‘Gary has earmarked the possibility of bringing in a short term loan signing to replace Clayton while he is away on international duty’.

Recently, Rowett allowed striker’s Lee Novak (Chesterfield) and Wes Thomas (Swindon Town) to go out on loan. Neither are part of his first team plans, and that decision leaves Blues very thin on the ground in the forward areas.
