Birmingham travel to The New York Stadium for the first time tomorrow as they bid to continue a promising start to Gary Rowett’s time in charge.

Blues are trying to get their season back on track after a difficult start. Rotherham are enjoying a solid start but are beginning to appear a bit shaky in recent weeks.

With both teams expected to struggle this year this game could be an important point in each teams season.

The Championship is currently very close down the bottom and a win for either side could present a spring board for their festive campaign.

Vital Quotes:

Gary Rowett (bcfc.com)

‘He [Moussi] fits a space where I feel we`re lacking. He`s a natural defensive midfielder with a little bit of size and extra strength and power. On top of that he`s got good experience in the Championship and he knows exactly what`s expected and tactically he understands exactly how we want to play.

‘It`s about us having a look at Nikola and him having a look at us and seeing a different way of working and if he can fit into that and into what we want.

‘They`ve done fantastically well under Steve Evans. I`ve got nothing but respect for Steve and his assistant Paul Raynor who I know very well from playing with him at Cambridge United.

‘Playing teams around you provides a very different challenge to playing the teams at the top end of the table. I think the games will be a little bit edgier because there will be more pressure on both sides.

‘The fans have got behind the players and what they`ve seen in the first three games. They`re going because they see that commitment from the players and that chance of maybe getting a result.

Wes Thomas misses the trip as he serves out the first game of a three match ban following his sending off against Cardiff City. Lee Novak has recovered from his hamstring injury and is back in contention.

Rotherham Team News:

Player to watch: Adam Collin

The former Newcastle man has proven difficult to beat in goal for Rotherham and it seems like he will be the man to beat tomorrow.

Birmingham City Team News:

Blues need to take their chances up front and the man responsible for that is Clayton. This week there is no Wes Thomas from the bench, it is all over to Donaldson for Blues.
