Adam Rooney became an Oldham player on a permanent basis after signing a contract with the club on Thursday.

Rooney has been having a problem with a deal that was struck with Swindon Town after a season long loan at the County Ground. A deal was agreed with the club but new owners were not happy.

The 25 year old went to Boundary Park for the pre-season and has done enough to impress the powers that be at the Lancashire outfit; they offered him a two year contract with the option of a further twelve months which the player accepted.
